The Liver channel originates at Dadun (LR 1), crosses Sanyinjiao (SP 6), and continues towards Yinlian (LR 11) to the pubic region where it crosses Chongmen (SP 12) and Fushe (SP 13). It then winds around the genitals and goes up to the lower abdomen from Qugu (CV 2) through Guanyuan (CV 4). It then runs upward and curves around the ST to enter the LR organ, and connects with the GB. From there, it continues to ascend through the diaphragm, and branching out in the costal and hypochondriac region. It then ascends along the posterior aspect of the throat to the nasopharynx and connects with the eye system. Continuing further upward, it emerges from the forehead and meets at Baihui (GV 20).
The branch arising from the eye system runs down towards the cheek and curves around the mouth to the inner surface of the lips.
The branch arising from the LR organ passes through the diaphragm and enters the LU, where it connects with the LU channel.
