Location

The Master Tung Acupuncture point, T 22.03 Shangbai, is located on the dorsal aspect of the hand between the index and middle fingers, 0.5 cun proximal to the MCP joints of these fingers.

Indications
Primary: 

Eye disorders:

  • Conjunctivitis, keratitis, near-sightedness, eye soreness, eye swelling, eye itchiness, astigmatism, tearing upon exposure to wind, weakness or tired eyes from overuse
Secondary: 
  • Sciatica, shoulder pain, arm pain, lateral side chest pain, weakness of the feet, ankle pain, ankle sprain, wrist pain
  • Enteritis

Techniques

  • This point is most often needled bilaterally for optimal effect.
    • Needle bilaterally for neck pain.
    • Needle bilaterally and retain needles for 1 hour for itchy eyes.

  • Needle the healthy side for weakness of the feet.
