Guanyuan (CV 4)

Location

On the anterior midline, 3 cun below the umbilicus.

Indications
  • Enuresis, urinary retention or frequency
  • Nocturnal emission 
  • Irregular menstruation, morbid leukorrhea, dysmenorrhea, uterine bleeding, postpartum hemorrhage
  • Indigestion, diarrhea, prolapse of the rectum, hernia, lower abdominal pain
  • Flaccid type of apoplexy
Contraindications: 
Contraindicated during pregnancy
Applications
  • Strengthens the yuan (source) qi, benefits essence
  • Tonifies and nourishes the Kidneys
  • Warms and strengthens the Spleen
  • Benefits the uterus and Bladder
  • Regulates the lower jiao
  • Regulates Small Intestine qi
  • Restores collapse
