Yunmen (LU 2)

Location

In the depression below the acromial extremity of the clavicle, 6 cun lateral to the anterior midline, between the pectoralis major and deltoid muscle.

Indications
  • Cough, asthma, wheezing, shortness of breath, dyspnea, fullness and pain in the chest, heat in the chest
  • Pain and inflammation in the shoulder and arm
Applications
  • Clears Lung heat, disseminates and descends Lung qi
  • Drains heat in the limbs, opens joints
Balance Method: 
Techniques

Needle obliquely 0.5-0.8 cun towards the lateral aspect of the chest. To avoid injuring the lung, do not needle deeply towards the medial aspect.
