Location

This point is on the GV channel, 0.8 cun above the posterior hairline. Some books state it overlaps with Fengfu (GV 16), which is 1 cun above the midpoint of the posterior hairline, while others say it overlaps with Yamen (GV 15), which is 0.5 cun above the midpoint of the posterior hairline.

Indications
Primary: 
  • Aphasia
  • Neck pain
  • Palpitations, weakness of the heart
  • Cholera, summer time enteritis with vomiting and diarrhea

Techniques

Needle 0.1-0.2 cun.

  • This point should not be needled more than 0.2 cun deep unless treating aphasia, which the needling depth is 0.3 cun.

This point works best when it is bled. Pinch the muscles first prior to bleeding.
