This point overlaps with Xuehai (SP 10), which is 2 cun proximal to the superior medial corner of the patella.

Indications
Primary: 

Kidney disorders:

  • Nephritis, edema, impotence, lin zheng (dysuria syndrome) with pronounced urine odor, diabetes, chronic nephritis, proteinuria, pyelonephritis, cystitis

Kidney deficiency:

  • Back pain, bi zheng (painful obstruction syndrome)
  • Impotence, premature ejaculation, dizziness
  • Red or white vaginal discharge, inflammation of the uterus, lower abdominal pain, threatened miscarriage
Secondary: 
  • Sore throat, dry throat, throat tumor
  • Jaundice
  • Diabetes
  • Upper back pain near Gaohuangshu (BL 43)
