Qianding (GV 21)

Location

On the midline at the top of the head, 3.5 cun posterior to the anterior hairline, 1.5 cun anterior to Baihui (GV 20).

Indications
  • Epilepsy, dizziness, vertex headache
  • Blurring of vision, rhinorrhea
Contraindications: 
Contraindicated for infants whose fontanel has not yet closed or with metopism (unfused frontal suture of the skull)
Applications
  • Eliminates wind
  • Benefits the head, calms the spirit
Techniques

Needle subcutaneously 0.3-0.5 cun.
