Renzhong (GV 26)

Location

On the midline of the upper lip, at the junction of the upper 1/3 and lower 2/3 of the philtrum.

Indications
  • Mental disorders, epilepsy, hysteria, infantile convulsion, coma, apoplexy-faint
  • Deviation of the mouth and eyes, puffiness of the face, trismus
  • Pain and stiffness of the lower back
Applications
  • Restores consciousness, calms the spirit
  • Benefits the face and nose, expels wind
  • Benefits the spine
Techniques

Needle obliquely upward 0.3-0.5 cun.
