Location

The Master Tung Acupuncture point, T 11.03 Fujian, is on the palmar aspect of the index finger, along the radial margin of the middle phalangeal bone (line B). Divide the middle phalanx into thirds, and locate this point at the junction of the distal 1/3 and middle 1/3 of this distance.

Indications
Primary: 

Hernia: inguinal hernia, femoral hernia

Secondary: 
  • Abdominal distension, bloating, stomachache
  • Urinary tract infection, cystitis
  • Toothache
Contraindications: 
Bilateral needling is contraindicated

Techniques
  • Needle perpendicularly, adjacent to the edge of the bone, 0.1 - 0.2 cun towards the dorsal aspect of the hand.
  • Bleeding is also effective for hernia if there are nearby veins or dark spots. The therapeutic effect is most apparent when yellow fluids can be squeezed out when bleeding this point.
