Tianxi (SP 18)

Location

In the 4th intercostal space, 6 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

Indications
  • Fullness and pain in the chest and hypochondrium, cough, hiccup
  • Mastitis, insufficient lactation
Applications
  • Regulates and descends qi
  • Benefits the breasts and promotes lactation
Balance Method: 
Techniques

Needle obliquely 0.3-0.5 cun. Perpendicular insertion is not advisable as it may induce pneumothorax.
