Zhongjian (T 11.05)

Location

The Master Tung Acupuncture point, T 11.05 Zhongjian, is located on the palmar aspect of index finger, at the center of the proximal phalanx (line C).

Indications
Primary: 
  • Hernia
  • Asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia in children
Secondary: 
  • Palpitations, chest stuffiness
  • Dizziness, blurry vision, soreness and pain of the eyes
  • Knee pain
Contraindications: 
Bilateral needling is contraindicated

Techniques

Needle perpendicularly 0.1 - 0.25 cun.

  • For HT, LU, and head conditions, needle 0.1 - 0.2 cun deep.
  • For hernia and knee pain, 0.25 cun deep.

Bleeding is also effective for hernia if there are nearby veins or dark spots.
Needle contralateral to the affected side.
