Shanggao (T 22.21)*

The Master Tung Acupuncture point, T 22.21 Shanggao, is on the palmar aspect of the hand, along the HT channel between the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones, 0.5 cun proximal to the second point of Shoujie (T 22.10), along the edge of the 5th metacarpal. Some sources state it is 1 - 1.5 cun proximal to Shaofu (HT 8), which is where the tip of the little finger touches when a fist is made. To determine where to needle, palpate for the strongest ah shi sensation in this area of the palm.
