Fengchi (GB 20)

Location

In the depression between the upper portion of the sternocleidomastoideus and the trapezius muscles, on the same level with Fengfu (GV 16).

Indications
  • Headache, vertigo, tinnitus, insomnia, convulsion, epilepsy, infantile convulsion
  • Blurred vision, glaucoma, red and painful eyes
  • Common cold, nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea
  • Febrile diseases
  • Neck pain and stiffness

  • Benefits the head and eyes
  • Clears the sense organs
  • Activates the channel, alleviates pain
Balance Method: 
Techniques

Oblique insertion 0.5-0.8 cun towards the tip of the nose with the tip of the needle slightly downwards, or subcutaneous insertion through Fengfu (GV 16).

Avoid needling too deeply as it may damage the spinal cord.
