Location

This point overlaps with Taichong (LR 3), which is on the dorsum of the foot in the depression distal to the junction of the 1st and 2nd metatarsal bones.

Indications
Primary: 
  • Cardiac disorders: myocardial infarction, heart disease leading to headache
  • Liver or gastrointestinal diseases
  • Neurasthenia
  • Pain and numbness of the hands and feet
  • Gynecological disorders:
    • Inflammation or tumors of the uterus, fibroids and myomas, breech presentation, difficult labor, retained placenta, abnormal uterine bleeding, and lin zheng (dysuria syndrome)
Secondary: 
  • Sore throat
  • Headache, supraorbital nerve pain, epilepsy, facial paralysis
  • Swollen bones
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Non-infectious urinary pain

Contraindicated during pregnancy
